“What problem am I trying to solve?”

Because the right financial decision isn’t always the most popular one.

It’s the one that makes sense for you.

Behind every career, every business, every paycheck and every family dream is someone who decided to show up and do the work.

To the healthcare workers. The teachers. The entrepreneurs. The builders. The caregivers. The professionals. The small business owners. The parents working to give their children more. And every person whose daily effort helps make a life, a family and a community stronger.

Your work matters.

But as we celebrate what our work makes possible, may we also remember that the goal isn’t simply to work hard.

It is to build something that can stand.

To create stability.
To protect what we’ve worked for.
To prepare for what comes next.
And to leave something meaningful for those coming after us.

This Labor Day, I celebrate you, your work, your sacrifice and the future you are building.

May the work of your hands continue to produce good things.

Today, I had the privilege of joining the African Immigrant Collective summit as a guest speaker.

There is something powerful about being in a room filled with African immigrants who are building careers, businesses, and new lives while carrying the hopes of the people and communities they came from.

These conversations matter.

Because our financial lives are often more complex than they appear on paper.

We are building here.

Supporting family back home.

Raising children.

Building businesses.

Planning for the future.

Navigating responsibilities across borders.

And, in the middle of all of that, trying to make wise financial decisions for ourselves and the people we love.

That is why financial education and planning matter so deeply to me.

We need more conversations that help people move from simply earning income to intentionally building, protecting and preparing for the future.

I am grateful to the African Immigrant Collective for creating spaces where these conversations can happen and where our community can learn, connect and grow together.

The work continues.

Before you ask, “How much will it cost?”

Ask a different question first: “What am I actually protecting?”

Because the conversation should never begin with a policy.

It should begin with your life.

Your income.

Your home.

Your children.

Your spouse.

The lifestyle your family has worked hard to build.

The responsibilities that depend on you.

The goals you are still working toward.

And the people who would still need stability if life suddenly looked different.

That is why I believe financial conversations should start with responsibility before recommendations.

Before we talk about what you should have, we need to understand what your financial life is responsible for carrying.

Because once you understand what needs to be protected, you can begin to make better decisions about how to protect it.

The goal isn’t to buy a policy just because someone told you that you need one.

The goal is to have a financial strategy that makes sense for your life, your responsibilities and the future you’re building.

So let me ask you:

If something changed tomorrow, what part of your financial life would you want protected first?

That’s where the conversation should begin.

A new season doesn’t have to mean uncertainty. It can be an opportunity to trust God for peace, wisdom, direction, provision, and stability.

As your family steps into what’s next, may God go before you, order your steps and keep your hearts anchored in Him.

“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.” — Isaiah 26:3

May this new season bring clarity where there has been confusion, provision where there has been need, and stability where there has been uncertainty.

With how far the year has gone, there’s every tendency to feel like you can’t do any more than you already have. But no, it’s not too late.

Maybe the year hasn’t gone exactly as planned.

Some things worked.
Some didn’t.
Some goals are still sitting on the list.

But you still have time to make decisions that matter.

Time to get serious about your family’s financial future.
Time to protect what you’ve built.
Time to plan for your children.
Time to strengthen your retirement strategy.
Time to put the right structures in place.

You don’t need to finish everything before December.

You just need to stop postponing what matters.

There are still four months left.

What will you do with them? That’s what matter!! ❤️

Before August closes, pause and thank God for what He has already carried you through.

Some prayers were answered. Some battles were survived. Some doors opened. And even in the places where you are still waiting, God has remained faithful.

Now, as we step into September, make this your prayer:

“Lord, crown this new month with Your goodness. Let my family, my work, my children, and every area of my life experience the evidence of Your faithfulness. Go before me and let every path You lead me on overflow with Your goodness and abundance.”

September will not just be another month. May it carry the evidence of a God who answers, restores, directs, and provides.
