I asked Tony Gaskins a question that a lot of people may be uncomfortable answering:

Are there consequences for using—or playing with—the name of God for profit?

Tony didn’t hold back.

He explains why he believes Black audiences can be especially vulnerable to spiritual manipulation, and why there’s a major difference between building a business around your God-given gift and using God’s name to manipulate people into opening their wallets.

Then he shares a sobering example involving the late Kevin Samuels.

Tony says that while Kevin was alive, he personally warned him about the weight and responsibility that comes with his message and influence. For Tony, the larger lesson isn’t about claiming to know why someone passes away—it’s about understanding that your platform, your message, and how you use your influence carry consequences.

You can make money.

You can build influence.

You can have millions listening.

But Tony’s warning is simple: don’t play with God. 🙏🏾
