SARS has confirmed the 2026 income tax filing season dates.
Here are the key dates to diarise:
Auto Assessments: 1 July to 12 July 2026
Non-provisional individuals: 13 July to 23 October 2026
Provisional taxpayers: 13 July 2026 to 22 January 2027
Trusts: 13 July 2026 to 22 January 2027
Companies should also remember that company income tax returns are generally due within 12 months after financial year-end.
A good tax submission starts with good preparation: make sure your income, expenses, supporting documents, banking details, and SARS profile are up to date.
If you are unsure which deadline applies to you, speak to your accountant before filing season gets busy.

Maryn joined our monthly accounting team in February and brings 25+ years of bookkeeping and payroll experience, with strong expertise in reconciliations, VAT, payroll administration, and client reporting.
Alisha joined us in April as Manager, working alongside Petro and Lize on annual financial statements and client liaison. She is a Professional Accountant (SA) and Independent Reviewer (SA), with experience in financial reporting, tax compliance, and audit engagements across a wide range of industries.
