As a financial planner, there are 3 things I hope people will do differently with their money in 2021 No financial plan could have prepared us for the pandemic, but going forward, there are smart changes we can make to our money habits.

As we approach the end of a challenging but eye-opening year, it is imperative to reflect on the year that has been, as well as the year that will be. Everything needs to be taken into consideration, the good and the bad. A realistic but decisive plan of action also needs to be drawn up - and the necessary action plans put in place.

Do enjoy the remainder of the year, safely and with loved ones - friends and family.

1. Review your portfolio regularly - or atleast annually.
2. Heed the call to have your affairs in order (at all times) - but don't be caught in the trap of doing so hastily.
3. Ensure that your adviser does a thorough job on your planning - no rush jobs are acceptable (for your family's sake).
4. The vaccines are not the end of this pandemic.
5. More challenges await.
