This is brilliant, and I'm so glad someone said it.

It is absolutely true that knowledge alone is not enough. Without practical experience, it's difficult to become the professional you aspire to be.

I've been an accountant for 16 years, and I still remember my first job in practice fresh out of university. It was a real eye-opener. I quickly realised that there was a huge difference between what I had learned in textbooks and what was required in the real world.

Education provides the foundation, but experience is what builds confidence, problem-solving skills, and professional judgement. The combination of the two is what ultimately makes a great accountant.

Thank you for sharing this perspective—it is an important reminder for anyone starting their career.
