How do you calculate under insurance?
For example your claim is R30 000. Your contents is insured for R250 000. The remaining contents after the loss is R240 000.
Loss R30 000 plus R240 000 = R270 000
Loss R30 000 divided by R270 000 = 11.1%
R30 000 x 11/1% = R3330 under insured.
Therefor the insurance will settle R26 660 of your claim.
