We’re thrilled to share that our founding director Jeremy Squier has been named among the Top 50 Advisors in South Africa for 2025 by Citywire.
The following excerpt from Citywire’s editor, Ruan Jooste gives context to this recognition:
“Raising the bar in financial advice
The Citywire Top 50 Adviser report is one of the most rewarding projects we publish each year, because it shines a light on the people shaping the future of advice in South Africa. Beyond just numbers and rankings, it recognises the depth of talent, commitment, and professionalism that advisers bring to their clients and communities every day.
This year, we received a record 226 completed entries, and the calibre was exceptional. Submissions were judged across six areas: financial planning process, practice management, investment process, charity and community involvement, transformation and mentorship, and innovation. In many cases, only a single point separated one adviser from another – proof that excellence is becoming the standard, not the exception.
One of the most striking developments has been the industry’s progress in transformation and mentorship. Compared with last year, advisers placed far greater emphasis on nurturing new talent, driving diversity and embedding mentorship into their business culture. This marks a positive shift towards long-term sustainability and inclusivity in the profession.
To ensure fairness, each entry was assessed using a structured scoring framework, focusing not just on technical expertise but also on depth, judgment and client-centric thinking
What stood out most this year was not simply the quality of individual submissions, but the collective story they tell: of an advice profession that is maturing, broadening, and raising its own standards. That is something worth celebrating – and a powerful signal of where the industry is heading.”
Jeremy reflects that this recognition should actually have been bestowed upon our entire team, all of whom work together with him in providing solutions to our many clients.
To all of our clients, thank you for your trust and support over the years. To our colleagues , both internally and externally, thank you for your dedication and support. To Jeremy, thank you for leading with integrity and insight.
Here’s to pushing boundaries, setting new standards, and continuing to grow together. 🚀

Wealth and Asset, a new name but a continuation of the same exceptional team and bespoke financial advice and service.
The business you know was started by Jeremy Squier and his colleagues in October 1989, and 35 successful years later we are doing a management buyout and are embarking on a new brand identity.
The first brand identity was The Financial Trust Group followed by Bespoke Solutions in 2002 and then Wealth Associates Bespoke Solutions around 2015.
Our new Wealth and Asset brand is symbolised in the Pincushion protea, which displays the following characteristics, all of which resonate with us: Resilience, diversity, beauty, uniqueness and creativity, growth and abundance and a true South African heritage.
After many months of negotiation, the dream has now become a reality with the conclusion of the buy-back and the adoption of the Wealth and Asset name.
On behalf of the entire team, we’d like to personally thank everyone who stood by us - without your support and unwavering loyalty, this would not have been possible. Our dream has been made possible through the culmination of sticking to our principles, through continued hard work, and through our sheer desire to remain a relevant independent advisor business, centred on our clients, supported by our staff and key service and product-partners and owned by our advisors.
We thank everyone who matter to us for their unwavering support and guidance and look forward to our new chapter.
