The Sandwich Generation: A cohort of South Africans caught between caring for elderly parents who face the challenge of waning income and inadequate provision for retirement vs inflating costs of living and raising your own family, often including children.

It's a difficult situation, to say the least. This insightful article put some of the difficulties faced by [us] into context, and provides what I think is a relevant and educational perspective on facing this problem head on so that it doesn't become a cycle.
