Our slogan read SUPPORT. EMPOWER. SUSTAIN with that in mind… here are ways of helping your business surviving Corona.
The government has created a fund to assist us, through either the supply of needed commodities or finances. Go to www.smmesa.gov.za
Complete all the required information to possibly get some relief from the various funds and donations specifically for SMME’s.
UIF National Disaster Benefit guide will help you understand what is possible for your business with the UIF disaster fund.
For some of us, it means we will be able to retain our staff, without having to worry about the entire wage bill and keeping staff afloat.
For other if means assistance with infected staff members.
I have also a business survival guide, which is sharing of ideas on how to keep business going. It might be useful to some and completely useless to others, if like me you are on the “others” list LOL I am sorry. We are working on ideas for “others”
We will gladly send you a copy of the UIF and survival guide via email. Pop us a message on FB with your email address or send a message to [email protected] or whatsapp to receive your copy.
Contact your bank to find out what they are prepared to offer you in terms of debt repayment delays. Most of them have come to the party and are trying to assist.
You also have a 4 month gap on paying your business taxes.
To those of you that have employee benefits schemes, the master of the court has agreed to suspend payment contribution for a wee while, thus assisting business to apply that funding elsewhere. We are still waiting for confirmation on the duration of the payment gap, however you can work on a minimum of 3 months. As soon as I have that information I will share it with you.
Most of you would have a section on your short term insurance policy for Business Interruption. Unfortunately, on most policies, this section does not cover diseases. Which means you are not able to claim against it unless you had an additional subsection which include diseases, or if you are in sectors such as medical.
My suggestion is to make sure that you are adequately and correctly covered under sections such as theft, electronic equipment and business all risk. Should you have people working from home or for instances of break-in or theft.
Whether you would want to or not, we have to consider some dark realities. Business contingency plans are now vital. What will happen if key members are no longer there? what happens if the main bread winner can no longer support his or her family? Are your plans in place? What do you have covered under your long term policies with regards to this virus? Is your will up to date?
Please understand that this is not a sales pitch for us. For most of you that know me, would understand that, sitting still for 21 days might cause fatalities in my household, that would have nothing to do with any form of illness or virus. If you need assistance or planning on this front, we are available.
We are here to help, should you need information specific to your business, or ways of saving money, or plans on rescuing what you have at the moment.
Please feel free to contact us, our entire team is available to help.
