🚨 Big news for SA businesses! The compulsory VAT registration threshold has increased from R1 million to R2.3 million, effective 1 April 2026. Voluntary registration is now available from R120,000 (up from R50,000).
If your turnover is below the new threshold, you may no longer need to be VAT registered — this could mean real savings and less admin.
