What's New:
Get an identity protection personal identification number (IPIN)

An IP PIN is a six-digit number that prevents someone else from filing a federal tax return using your Social Security number or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number. It’s a vital tool for ensuring the safety of your personal and financial information.

New for the 2025 filing season, the IRS will accept Forms 1040, 1040-NR and 1040-SS even if a dependent has already been claimed on a previously filed return as long as the primary taxpayer on the second return includes a valid IP PIN. This change will reduce the time for the agency to receive the tax return and accelerate the issuance of tax refunds for those with duplicate dependent returns.

The best way to sign up for an IP PIN is through your IRS Online Account. If you are unable to create an Online Account, alternative methods are available, such as in-person authentication

Restrictions for overtime pay soon to change nationwide The U.S. Department of Labor will set in motion new overtime rules starting this summer to allow one million more workers to be eligible for overtime pay.

Tomorrow April 18th is NOT the DEADLINE to file your taxes...its the date when penalties and fees start accruing IF you owe the IRS.
If you are getting a refund you can actually wait 3 years to file and get your refund.
The last day to electronically filed is October 17th...after that date you'll have to mail it in or wait until the tax season starts the following year.
If you trying to file an Extension be careful...remember if you owe you need to pay on April 18th because fess & penalties start accruing, so filling an extension is used only if you don't have all your documents it's not a delay tactic.
