🚗 IRS MILEAGE RATE UPDATE FOR 2026

If you drive your personal vehicle for business, there’s an important mid-year change to know about.
The IRS increased the standard business mileage rate from 72.5¢ to 76¢ per mile, effective July 1, 2026.

That means your mileage needs to be tracked separately for each period:
📅 January 1–June 30: 72.5¢/mile
📅 July 1–December 31: 76¢/mile

Don’t lump your 2026 mileage into one total at the end of the year. The different rates matter when calculating your deduction.

If you’re self-employed or a business owner, make sure your mileage log reflects the correct rate for when the miles were driven. 💼
