A big thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make this year's Summer Potluck another memorable tradition. We are already looking forward to next year!

The construction firms we worry about most are the ones with more opportunity than they've ever had.
When you fill the pipeline, every bid starts to feel lower stakes. The team is busy, momentum is strong, and saying yes feels like the natural move.
But that's exactly when you build cumulative pressure the fastest, and by the time you see it, you're in a tangled web of problems.
Run the Go/No-Go Check to make sure you're building on solid ground while you get there.

Let’s start things off with a (tough) question:
Do you know what your current tax basis is in the property you’re looking to sell?
Before we talk through any exit decision with a client, that's where we start.
Most people know the purchase price. Fewer know what years of depreciation have done to that number, and fewer still know what recapture exposure looks like the moment a sale closes.
Closing that gap before the deal is in motion is almost always better than closing it after.
If you're working through a sale, hold, or refinance decision right now, run our diagnostic tool before you commit to a direction. Link in comments.

The most expensive production decisions aren't the slow ones.
They're the fast ones made without knowing if the issue is new or the same one from last month.
That distinction changes everything about how you respond.
Gain the confidence to make fast and accurate calls with insights from our manufacturing output tool.

When a professional services firm tells us they have a revenue problem, the first thing we do is look at margin at the engagement level.
Almost every time, that's where the answer is.
The work is humming along, but somewhere in how time gets deployed, how projects get billed, and which relationships get investment, the return isn't matching the effort.
Our free assessment is a fast way to see where that's happening in your firm. Link in comments.

Before making a structural change to how a business runs, there's one question worth asking:
Which parts of this business would actually look different in 90 days if you gave them less of your attention?
The parts that would fall apart without you are the parts that need structure. That’s where your next investment should go.
We created an assessment that takes three minutes and shows you where those gaps are in your business.

By June, business performance is clearer. That makes it the right time to adjust your strategy, not wait until year-end.

There's a version of this business where the GC pushes his draw, and you already know you can absorb it. Where a crew delay on one site doesn't ripple into everything else. Where you walk into every job having already answered the hard questions.
That's what five minutes with the Go/No-Go Check buys you. Run it before your next bid.

Why would you let the buyer’s timeline set the close date?
When you know where you sit on income for the year, what other capital events are in play, and the role of depreciation on your position, the calendar stops being an afterthought.
It becomes one of the few things in your control before the deal closes, and one of the most consequential for what you keep.
