Starting January 2023, third-party payment settlement networks such as PayPal, Venmo, Amazon, Etsy, and square must send 1099K’s to all payees who are paid over $600 a year for goods or services. This reporting threshold, which is much lower, then in prior years, does not apply to Friends and family payments. The change in this rule means more people than ever will get 1099K‘s from these organizations.
