On September 25, 2026, the new IRS app officially replaced IRS2Go, giving taxpayers more access to their individual tax information right from their phones.

Need a transcript? Want to confirm a payment, check your balance, or pull up an IRS notice? You can now do that from the app, along with checking your refund status.

Already have IRS2Go? Don’t download another app. Simply update the one you already have.

If you’re waiting until AFTER you file your taxes to find out you owe the IRS, you’re already behind.

Tax planning is like bookkeeping…it happens year-round.

By the time your tax return is being prepared, most of the financial decisions affecting that return have already been made. Tax preparation reports what happened. Tax planning gives you an opportunity to make informed decisions while there’s still time to affect the outcome.

And owing the IRS doesn’t automatically mean your accountant did something wrong.

Your tax liability is influenced by your income, deductions, entity structure, estimated payments, withholding, and the decisions made throughout the year.

This is why tax planning cannot begin at tax filing.

The goal is to have these conversations throughout the year, not discover the numbers for the first time when the return is being prepared.

If your business has grown but your tax strategy hasn’t grown with it, it may be time for a different approach.
