🎓 Connecting with Future Accounting Professionals!

September was a busy month for our Westberg Eischens team! We had the opportunity to attend Meet the Firms at Minnesota State University, Mankato and the Career Fair at St. Cloud State University.

We enjoyed meeting so many students, talking about careers in public accounting, and sharing what it’s like to be part of the Westberg Eischens team. Thank you to everyone who stopped by to visit with us!

✨ Michael Gramm – 23 Years
For 23 years, Mike has been an integral part of Westberg Eischens. As Managing Partner, he provides steady leadership while remaining deeply committed to our clients, our team, and the future of the firm. His experience, strong client relationships, and dedication to developing our people have helped guide the firm through years of growth and change.

✨ David Euerle – 19 Years
For 19 years, David has brought extensive knowledge, experience, and dedication to Westberg Eischens. As a Partner, he is a trusted resource for clients and colleagues, providing thoughtful guidance and a practical approach to their accounting and business needs. We’re grateful for the leadership and expertise David brings to our firm year after year.

✨ Amber Palmquist – 20 Years 🎉
Two decades! Amber joined Westberg Eischens 20 years ago and has grown right alongside the firm, taking on countless roles and responsibilities along the way. Today, she serves as our Firm Administrator and has been a Partner since 2021.

Over the past 20 years, Amber has had a hand in nearly every aspect of the firm—from supporting our team, to recruiting, operations, marketing, firm culture, and helping lead us through growth and change. She is often the person behind the scenes keeping things moving, solving problems, bringing people together, and making Westberg Eischens a great place to work.

Twenty years represents an incredible amount of dedication, growth, relationships, and memories. We are incredibly grateful for everything Amber has invested in Westberg Eischens and for the energy and heart she continues to bring to our firm every day. Congratulations on 20 years, Amber!

Meet Anthony Reyes!

Anthony joined Westberg Eischens in June 2026 after graduating from Southwest Minnesota State University with a degree in Accounting and a minor in Finance. After interning with us in the summer of 2025, Anthony returned as a full-time member of our professional staff, working with clients across Audit, Tax, and Client Accounting Services (CAS).

Originally from Willmar, Anthony now lives near Belgrade. Outside of the office, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching sports, and getting outdoors.

We're excited to have Anthony back at Westberg Eischens and look forward to watching him grow in his public accounting career!

For 28 years, Nancy has been an important part of Westberg Eischens. As a senior manager in our audit department, her experience, leadership, and commitment are valued by both our team and our clients.

✨ Diane Lawton – 13 Years
Diane has been a dependable part of our team for 13 years, providing dedicated support to our tax and bookkeeping clients. We appreciate the consistency, knowledge, and care she brings to her work.

✨ Brianna Woltjer – 5 Years
Celebrating five years! Brianna is a valued member of our bookkeeping and payroll team, known for her attention to detail, reliability, and commitment to great client service.

✨ David Then, CPA – 4 Years
David continues to be an important part of our tax team, bringing strong technical knowledge and a thoughtful, client-focused approach to his work.

✨ Teresa Hoff, CPA – 2 Years
Teresa brought decades of experience and strong client relationships with her when she joined our Granite Falls office. We’re grateful for the knowledge and expertise she continues to share with our clients and team.

🚨 Minnesota Employers: Secure Choice Deadline Approaching

Does your business have 50–99 employees? An important Minnesota Secure Choice Retirement Program deadline is coming up.

📅 December 31, 2026

Minnesota businesses with 5 or more covered employees may be required to take action under the Minnesota Secure Choice Retirement Program.

What employers should know:
• If you do not offer a qualified retirement plan, you may be required to register and facilitate employee payroll deductions.
• If you already offer a qualified retirement plan, you generally do not have to participate — but you still need to certify your exemption.
The good news: certifying your exemption is quick and easy.
• Watch for your Minnesota Secure Choice Access Code, which is needed to register or certify an exemption.

Employers with 100+ employees had a June 30, 2026 deadline and should take action immediately if they have not already done so.

One week ago, we said goodbye to our Summer Accounting Interns. As National Intern Day coincided with their final day with us on July 30, it was the perfect opportunity to celebrate Hannah Bredesen and Olivia Olson! 🎉

Their internship kicked off at the Youth for Christ Swing for Teens Golf Outing ⛳, where they got to know each other and members of our team while supporting a great cause. From there, they gained hands-on experience by rotating through our Tax, Audit, and Payroll & Bookkeeping departments, giving them a well-rounded look at the accounting profession.

Along the way, they embraced every opportunity to learn, ask questions, and contribute to our team. They even got our entire office involved in a fun video, bringing plenty of laughs and showcasing the positive energy they shared throughout the summer.

To wrap up their internship, Hannah and Olivia presented to our partners, managers, and team, sharing what they learned and reflecting on how much they had grown throughout the experience.

Thank you, Hannah and Olivia, for your hard work, enthusiasm, and positivity. We truly enjoyed having you as part of the Westberg Eischens team and wish you all the best as you continue your accounting journeys.
