What’s your thoughts on this? 🤔

Trump called for Congress to abolish the income tax. The graphic reacts that he was not joking and that the proposal is huge. The remarks come from an archival speech at the Congressional Institute. The call is a policy demand, not an enacted repeal. No revenue figures are supplied and no claim is made that taxes have already ended.

The income tax is the central mechanism of federal revenue and of individual compliance. Abolishing it would require Congress to replace or eliminate the spending it currently funds.
