Does your child already have a Trump Account waiting to be activated?

Beginning October 1, 2026, the U.S. Treasury's automatic enrollment process is designed to make getting started with Trump Accounts easier for eligible children.

In this video, Greg Hammond, CFP®, CPA, explains what parents need to know about automatic enrollment, claiming and activating a Trump Account, and eligibility for the $1,000 federal contribution.

You'll also learn who can contribute to a child's Trump Account, including parents, grandparents, family members, friends, and even employers.

The key takeaway? Opening an account is just the beginning. Understanding how to fund it and take advantage of long-term compounding could help build a stronger financial foundation for your child.

Greg Hammond, CFP®, CPA shares three costly mistakes beneficiaries should watch for when inheriting a Traditional IRA, including taking a lump-sum distribution, misunderstanding the 10-year rule and required distributions, and incorrectly combining an inherited IRA with a personal IRA.

Do you take the standard deduction and give to charity? Beginning in 2026, you may be able to deduct up to $1,000 in qualifying charitable contributions, or up to $2,000 for married couples filing jointly, even if you don’t itemize your deductions.

Greg Hammond, CFP®, CPA shares what you need to know about this new charitable tax deduction, including what qualifies as a cash contribution and what records you should keep.

Cash contributions can include donations made by check, credit or debit card, electronic funds transfer, or online payment services. And remember, for any single contribution of $250 or more, you’ll need a written acknowledgment from the qualified charitable organization to claim the deduction.

If charitable giving is already part of your financial plan, this new tax provision could provide an additional tax benefit starting in 2026.

Can you trust the financial advice you see on social media?

YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, podcasts, and other online platforms are filled with people sharing opinions about stocks, investing, and the markets. Some may have thousands of followers or millions of views, but popularity doesn’t necessarily tell you anything about their qualifications.

In this , Greg Hammond, CFP®, CPA shares a few simple ways to check the background of someone offering financial advice online, including FINRA BrokerCheck and the SEC’s Investment Adviser Public Disclosure database.

There’s nothing wrong with hearing different perspectives. But before acting on investment advice, take a minute to understand who’s giving it.

Followers aren’t credentials. Views aren’t qualifications. And confidence isn’t expertise.

Can AI really help you pick stocks that beat the market?

The numbers suggest investors should be skeptical. A recent Wall Street Journal report found that only 27% of actively managed large-cap funds outperformed their benchmarks over the past year, and just 13% did so over the past 10 years.

Greg Hammond, CFP®, CPA explains why even sophisticated technology and professional investment management haven't made consistently picking winning stocks easy, and why AI may be better used as a research tool than as a crystal ball for your portfolio.

The takeaway: Rather than trying to predict the next winning stock, a broadly diversified investment strategy can help you participate in the market without depending on getting individual stock picks right.

Could your 401(k) be taking more risk than you intended?

Over time, some investments grow faster than others, which can cause your 401(k) to drift away from the investment mix you originally selected.

In this , Greg Hammond, CFP®, CPA explains how automatic rebalancing can periodically bring your 401(k) back to your target allocation, helping you maintain your intended diversification and level of risk without having to remember to do it yourself.

The catch? Your 401(k) may offer automatic rebalancing, but you may need to turn it on.

Take a few minutes to check your 401(k) and see if this feature is available and being used.

Can you predict the perfect time to buy a stock after it falls?

Most investors would love to, but the reality is that no one can consistently identify the bottom of the market.

In this week's , Greg Hammond, CFP®, CPA, explains why trying to time individual stocks is so difficult and why a diversified, broad market investment approach can help reduce the risk of relying on a single company.
