Two days at the IFA World Franchise Show, and the biggest lesson had nothing to do with franchising. 🙌

I spent them at the Broward County Convention Center, right here in Fort Lauderdale, alongside my daughter, Tara.

It was everything to love about this industry in one room.

Franchise owners and operators building something real, and the kind of face-to-face conversations you simply cannot have over email.

Unit economics, growth plans, the challenges nobody posts about.

The good stuff.

But the part I will remember most is not a conversation on the floor. It is getting to share these two days with Tara.

Business, at its best, runs on relationships you keep investing in, and few things matter more than investing in family. 🤝

To everyone we met and connected with, thank you. This is exactly why showing up in person still matters.

Every so often you need to get far enough away from the routine to actually see it clearly. A couple of weeks ago, for Shaun, that meant taking his family into the Amazon. 🌿

Rivers, forest, and the kind of quiet that makes you realise how rarely you actually get to sit in it. For a few days, the routine was completely out of reach, and that turned out to be the best part.

Two things stuck with him.

First, how much clearer your thinking gets when the noise is genuinely gone. A few days of real distance can do more than a month at full pace.

And second, a simple reminder of what the work is actually for. Nobody builds a business to answer more emails. They build it for the freedom to stand in the middle of a rainforest with the people who matter most and be fully there. 🙌

Back now and refreshed, heading into a busy stretch. But some trips pull you all the way out of the routine, and those are the ones that put everything else back in perspective.

We're heading to the IFA World Franchise Show, and it's right in our backyard. 🎉

Shaun will be there on September 25th & 26th at the Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale.

Franchise owners sit in a really interesting financial spot. The brand gives you a system, but the numbers still have to work location by location. What each unit breaks even at, where labor is eating the margin, which locations are actually profitable, whether you are ready for the next one. That is the conversation Shaun loves most. 🙌
