Hello everyone!

I am thrilled to announce that EssentiSoul Support, LLC is now open and accepting clients! My name is Essence Uke, and I am a clinician in training with a passion for helping individuals navigate life's challenges and transitions. My specialty is Financial Therapy, a unique approach that addresses the emotional, behavioral, and psychological aspects of money and finances. Whether you're struggling with financial stress, money-related conflicts, or simply want to develop a healthier relationship with money, I'm here to help.

In addition to Financial Therapy, I also offer support for:

Grief and Loss: Helping you cope with and process the pain of losing a loved one.

Life Transitions: Guiding you through significant changes and milestones in life.

And More: Addressing a wide range of mental health concerns to support your overall well-being.

I currently offer sessions at just $65 but don't currently accept insurance. However, I plan to be insurance-credentialed by the fall of 2024, making my services even more accessible to those in need.

I am deeply committed to providing trauma-informed care and upholding anti-racist therapy practices. Your safety, dignity, and comfort are my top priorities, and I strive to create a therapeutic environment that respects and honors your unique experiences.

Even though it's June and I still have a few more tax returns in process and extensions I still need to do the full returns for, I just wanted to extend my heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the clients of MoneySmart Tax Services, Inc.

This year marks the 5th year of my leap of faith and stepping out to formalize my tax preparation business and it was definitely a rough one. I knew from the time I committed to U of M for my MSW and started a new position that it would be a challenging tax season. But I mapped out a plan and worked it and the benefits were well worth the risk.

This year, we became a team of 18! I reduced my marketing and advertising budget and kept things very basic with pretty much Canva, referral bonuses, and word of mouth. I also got rid of a lot of overhead because I knew my clientele would be reduced due to my lack of capacity. However, despite those changes, I was not only able to streamline our processes and improve our workflow, I was also able to deliver a higher level of customer service and increase our profit.

I'm incredibly grateful to everyone who supported us this season--clients old and new. I say it all the time, I'm not just a seasonal business, but I'm available to my clients all year round. I still have a few clients waiting on refunds (literally 3-4 that I'm still following up on) but for the most part, everyone has received their refunds and this year, I only have 3 invoices (with 2 being related to pending refund statuses) that have not been paid.
