Behind the scenes, there’s a lot happening to keep everything moving; tracking returns, coordinating schedules, answering client questions, keeping the team organized, and making sure nothing falls through the cracks.

Behind the scenes of extension season… 👀📂

This cart was MUCH fuller not too long ago, and we’re finally starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel! 🙌

Extension season means lots of documents, lots of returns, lots of reviewing—and a whole lot of checking things off the list.

October 15th is getting closer, and so is an empty cart! ✔️

🍎 Giving Back in Our Community

Last Friday, Servello CPA team members traded spreadsheets for apple trees! 🍎🌳

We joined the Corridor9/495 Regional Chamber and HYPE9 of Corridor 9/495 for a morning of community service at Community Harvest Project in Harvard, MA, helping harvest apples that will support individuals and families in need throughout our community.

It was a beautiful day to get outside, work together, connect with other local businesses, and give back to an organization doing such important work in our community.

We may be a little better at taxes than apple picking… but we had a great time trying! 😂🍏

Thank you to Community Harvest Project and the Corridor 9/495 MetroWest Chamber of Commerce for giving us the opportunity to be part of the day!

Today Kasee went to Bentley University to connect with the Career Services team to learn how we can create even better internship opportunities for students.

At Servello CPA, we believe internships should be more than coffee runs and filing paperwork. We want students to gain real world experience, work alongside experienced professionals, and build confidence before graduation.

We’re excited to continue building relationships with local universities and investing in the next generation of accountants.

We know this time of year can feel busy - especially for small business owners juggling all the things. As you’re gathering documents and finalizing numbers, here’s a friendly reminder not to overlook some commonly forgotten business deductions:

• Home office expenses (if you use a dedicated space)
• Business mileage for client meetings, bank trips, or supply runs
• Software subscriptions & online tools
• The business portion of your cell phone & internet
• Continuing education, licenses, and certifications
• Bank fees & credit card processing fees
• Office supplies and small equipment purchases

These expenses add up quickly - you don’t want to leave money on the table.

It’s 2026, but you can still fund your 2025 IRA until April 15.

What you should know:
- Depending on income, you can contribute up to $7,000 ($8,000 if 50+)
- Your Traditional IRA contribution may be tax-deductible, and you may also qualify for the Saver’s Credit, helping reduce your tax bill.
- You can fund both 2025 and 2026 right now (just be sure to apply contributions to 2025 first)

Check your IRA for “Prior Year Contributions.” If it’s not maxed, there’s still time.
