False alarm – Elon Musk didn’t delete the IRS Direct File program (and it’s still available for this tax season at least). But, this instance highlights something that you can’t ignore anymore…
You can’t entrust your financials to a program that can be “deleted” with the click of a button (or an X post from a tech-genius-billionaire). You need a much sturdier foundation under you than that – a team of experts committed to YOUR financial well-being. If you’re up for that, give us a call.

As a business owner, you’ve got more skin in the game when it comes to your taxes. Because it’s not just about you – it’s about the (business) you’ve built too. There’s so much more at stake for you, which can put a weight on your shoulders during tax season. If you’re feeling that weight right now, here’s your reminder to take a deep breath, and focus on this one thing…
Be proactive. Get your documentation organized. And get your filing appointment scheduled LONG before the deadline. It’s these choices to stay a step ahead that can make or break your business finances this year.

While President Trump's recently raised tariffs affect things on a global scale, changes like this create shakings all the way down to the level of your small business – and that’s what matters to us.
President Trump issued a 10% tariff on imports from China and 25% tariffs on steel and aluminum imports. China countered with tariffs of up to 15% on U.S. goods.
For you, this means higher prices for any of these imported goods, which gives you slim options: Eat the costs, pass them on to your customers, or switch to a U.S.-based supplier.
We get it – grappling with change is never fun. And if you want help processing what these changes mean for your business (and how to prepare for the future), let’s talk.
Because the best thing right now is not to dwell on what you can’t change, but to find the best way forward, for the sake of your business.

Have you seen a ghost? In the tax realm, ghost preparers will prepare your tax return without signing it, leaving you on the hook for any mistakes. A legit tax preparer will ALWAYS include their Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN) and sign the return.
Who you gonna call? Your tax ghostbusters. If you’ve been ghosted, we’re here to help.

Of course you’re thinking about ways to fatten up your tax return this year (we are too). A tempting option for you business owners is claiming the Fuel Tax Credit, but watch out – it might get you into trouble.
Because it doesn’t apply to as much as you probably think, and claiming the credit when you don’t qualify can be cause for IRS penalties.
And guess what it does NOT apply to? Fuel for your personal vehicle, commuting, or non-business travel.
We can help you figure out the details at your tax appointment – just make sure to bring records of your fuel purchases and usage, and we’ll take it from there.
