📌 October 15 is coming up.

If you filed an extension for your 2025 individual federal tax return, your extended filing deadline is October 15, 2026.

One important reminder: an extension gave you more time to file...not more time to pay. Any tax originally due was still generally due by April 15, and unpaid balances may continue to accrue penalties and interest.

If your return is still outstanding, now is the time to make sure your documents are turned in and any remaining questions are handled before the deadline gets here.

One of our favorite meetings usually starts the same way.

A client reaches into a folder and says, "I've been meaning to ask you about this."

Sometimes it's a statement they don't understand or an old retirement account.

Almost never is it as complicated as they feared. Remember, you don't need to have everything organized before asking questions.

Sometimes the most productive meetings begin with, "Can we look at this together?"

There are homes that photograph beautifully when they're perfectly quiet.

Then there are homes that get even better when they're full.

I've always enjoyed thinking about that second version.

Where does everybody end up at Thanksgiving? Can someone be cooking while five other people stand around the kitchen talking? Where do the kids disappear to? Can you open the doors and let a gathering spill outside? And when the last guest leaves, does the house still work just as well for two people on an ordinary evening?

Those aren't necessarily questions you'll find written on a set of plans.

But they're worth asking.

A custom home gives us the opportunity to think beyond square footage and room names and talk about how you actually want to use the place.

Because some of the best moments a home will ever hold happen when there are too many cars in the driveway, every seat is taken, and somebody is asking where you keep the extra chairs.

Those are pretty good problems to design for.

Today is National Neonatal Nurses Day, and this one is especially close to our hearts here at iTallie. 🤍

Our family has had several little ones spend time in the NICU over the years. My daughter was there for several weeks, and my son and nephew both spent a few days there as well. Because of that, we know firsthand just how special NICU nurses truly are.

Those days can be scary and overwhelming, and you never forget the people who were there caring for your babies and helping your family through it all.

So today, from us here at iTallie, thank you to all of the neonatal nurses who care for these babies, celebrate the little wins, comfort their families, and give so much of themselves every day.
You truly make a difference.

September 15 Tax Deadline Reminder 📌

Tomorrow is an important filing deadline for many business owners.

If your S Corporation or Partnership return is on extension, September 15 is the filing deadline. The third estimated tax payment for 2026 is also due for taxpayers who are required to make estimated payments.
