My wife and I just got back from nine days out west. Four days hiking in Grand Teton, five more in Yellowstone.
The views were the easy part to love. The wildlife surprised us. Bison, moose, elk... and pronghorn - apparently a rare living relic of the last Ice Age. Its speed (55 mph) is thought to be left over from outrunning predators that went extinct thousands of years ago.
We're intentional about setting aside a travel budget now, while we're young enough to hike all day and still want to. We're also still funding our future selves. Both, not one or the other.
That's the same thing most of our clients are working toward. Build real wealth for later, without putting life on hold until later arrives. The hard part isn't picking a side. It's building a plan where both are actually funded and neither one quietly loses.
If you're staring at that tradeoff right now, it's worth mapping out instead of guessing.
Next stop: Istanbul?
