🧾 "I'll deal with my books later." — said every business owner right before tax season became a nightmare.

Let's talk about something most business owners don't think about until it's too late: what a bookkeeper actually does.

It's not just "typing numbers into a spreadsheet." A good bookkeeper is the person who knows exactly where your money is going, catches problems before they become expensive, and makes sure that when tax season hits, you're not scrambling through a shoebox of receipts.

Think of it this way — you wouldn't run a business without knowing your numbers. A bookkeeper just makes sure you actually have those numbers, accurate and up to date, all year long.

If you've ever thought "I'll deal with my books later," that's usually the sign it's time to stop doing it alone.

Curious what "organized books" would actually look like for your business? Send me a message — let's talk it through, no pressure. 🧡

Your books, organized. Your taxes, handled. Your business, protected.

Learning about AI is one thing.

Knowing what to actually do with it on Monday morning is something completely different.

That’s what I appreciate about the AI Business Summit.

I’m attending this 3-day virtual event led by Alicia Lyttle, and I’m enjoying how much of the conversation comes back to real strategies, practical tools, and actionable steps that business owners can actually implement.

AI is moving quickly, but staying ahead doesn’t mean chasing every new platform or shiny feature.

It means understanding what’s useful, what solves a real problem, and what makes sense for your business.

If you want practical ideas you can take back into your own business, you can join the summit here:

Thinking about using more AI in your business?

Do not start by asking which tool you should buy.

Start with the work you already do repeatedly.

What takes the same general steps every week? What requires a lot of starting from scratch? What consumes time without requiring your full expertise every single time?

Maybe AI can help. Maybe a template, checklist, or basic automation is the better answer.

That is the point of AI adoption strategy: choose the solution after you understand the problem.

What repetitive task would you like to spend less time doing?

A prospect just raised their hand. How long does it take your business to respond? đź“‹

Website form. Email. Social DM. Phone call. They can come from anywhere — and if each one is handled a little differently, that inconsistency can create gaps.

A useful question to ask yourself this week: if you were out sick for three days, would your team know exactly what to do when a new inquiry came in?

That one question can tell you a lot about whether your intake process is intentional or improvised.

If your answer is “it depends,” that is exactly the kind of gap the RESCH Method™ is designed to uncover. Grab the free checklist at sdrcreativesolutions.com/resch-method-checklist and audit your intake before the next lead slips through.

AI isn’t just changing what we can do. It’s changing what it means to be capable. 💡

I’m excited to be joining an incredible group of women for the GatherVerse Women’s AI Summit 2026!

On September 29, I’ll be part of the roundtable panel “The New Currency of Capability,” where we’ll explore what capability looks like in a world increasingly shaped by AI.

For me, this conversation goes beyond having access to the latest tools.

It’s about adoption.

How do we help people and businesses understand AI, identify where it genuinely adds value, and build the confidence to use it effectively?

Because having powerful technology available doesn’t automatically create capability. Knowing when, where, and why to use it is where the real transformation begins.

I’m looking forward to bringing the small-business and AI adoption perspective to this conversation alongside this fantastic panel. 🎤✨

The Summit officially starts tomorrow morning at 11 AM ET. Join us live and be part of the conversation about what it means to be truly capable in the age of AI.

What do you think will matter more in the next few years: having access to AI, or knowing how to use it effectively? Drop your thoughts in the comments. 👇

Quick operations check: how many places can important client or lead information enter your business right now?

Email. Website forms. Text messages. Social DMs. Phone calls. Referrals. Networking conversations.

Now go one step further: what happens after the information arrives?
If the next step depends on you remembering where the conversation happened, that is worth looking at.

Before I recommend AI or automation, I want to understand how information already moves through the business. Otherwise, technology can simply add another place to check.

Take two minutes today and map your entry points. How many did you find?

🚨 When three of the biggest names in AI agree that AI development needs to slow down, it’s worth paying attention.

Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei is calling for AI companies to slow the pace at which they increase the capabilities of their most advanced models.

And surprisingly?

Sam Altman agrees. Elon Musk agrees.

Three major figures in AI who certainly don’t agree on everything are finding common ground around one concern: AI capabilities may be advancing faster than our ability to evaluate and manage the risks.

But there’s an important distinction here.

This isn’t necessarily a call to stop AI development.

It’s a call to consider whether the race toward increasingly powerful AI needs to be paced so safety, testing and oversight have time to catch up.

And THAT is a conversation I think small business owners need to hear, too.

AI adoption shouldn’t be about grabbing every shiny new tool the second it appears. ✨

It should be about asking:

âś… Does this actually solve a problem? âś… Do I understand how it works? âś… What happens to my data? âś… Where does a human still need to be involved? âś… Is the benefit worth the risk?

The AI race isn’t slowing down tomorrow.

But when some of the people building the technology start asking whether it should, we should probably listen.

What do you think? Should AI companies voluntarily slow the race toward more powerful models, or is that unrealistic once global competition is involved?

👇 Let’s talk about it.

Sunday thought:

Consistency in business is not really a personality trait. It is usually a systems question.

When the next step depends on you remembering it, having time for it, and not getting pulled into something more urgent, the process is fragile.

Consistent businesses are not run by people who never forget anything. They build processes that do not require somebody to remember everything.

Instead of asking, “Why can’t I stay on top of this?” try asking, “What could I change so this does not depend on memory next time?”
That is a much more solvable question.

Build With Me Saturday!

Today’s practical task: start a small library of response templates for messages you write over and over.

Here’s all you need to get started:

1. List the 5–10 messages you write most often
2. Write a working draft for each one (good enough, not perfect)
3. Mark where you’ll personalize each time
4. Save them somewhere you’ll actually find them

No special tool required. Just a document and a focused hour or two.

Once the drafts exist, you can refine them with AI — but first you need the drafts.

What message do you write most often that could use a template?

Build With Me Saturday:

Pick one message or task you repeat and create five columns:

1. Situation
2. Standard response or action
3. What needs personalization or judgment
4. Who is responsible
5. Where it is stored

Now you have something you can actually evaluate.

Should it stay manual? Become a template? Turn into a checklist? Be automated? Could AI support part of it?

The goal is not to automate everything. The goal is to turn repeated knowledge into a reliable process.

What task would you start with?
