The deadline to file and pay your taxes this year is April 15. There's still time to get your return in by the deadline. Most people qualify to use either Free File or Direct File to prepare their return for free. Check whether you qualify too.

If you can't meet the deadline and need to request an extension, remember anyone can use Free File to request one. Do keep in mind an extension will grant you additional time to file your tax return but not additional time to pay any taxes due.
