As a financial coach it is my privilege to walk beside and guide clients through their journey regaining control of their money. I assist them in creating monthly budgets that emphasize paying off debt, building a strong emergency fund, save for their kids' college education and invest in their own retirement. By building a relationship with my clients, listening to their priorities and dreams, I help them stay focused and continuously work the plan we built together specifically to aid them in achieving their financial goals. I encourage and support during the rough patches and educate them so they understand the principles and purpose behind the Baby Steps plan.

After losing my dad very unexpectedly, I started putting together a list of information I wish we had quick, easy access to immediately after his passing.

I have offered to email it in the past, but life has given me a reminder of why this packet and its information is so important.

The first few weeks of Financial Peace University she looked sick to her stomach. You could see how overwhelmed she was with their financial situation. Tonight was lesson 7 and you can see how excited she is with their progress and the direction their finances and marriage has taken.
Before she was hiding Amazon purchases, now they communicate.
Before they were stressed, now they're looking forward to the future.
This is why I do this. Nothing better than giving people hope

Tonight's Financial Peace University class was my favorite lesson!
Insurance
Every member has at least one "oh, s**t" moment during this lesson
🏡 Whether that's learning if you don't have renter's insurance, your stuff isn't covered by your landlord's homeowner's insurance
🏡 or that every year you need to ensure your homeowner's policy reflects the increased value of your home
🚗 or the importance of spending more than 15 minutes on picking your car insurance policy
☠️ or just how affordable term life insurance is and why EVERYONE needs it
🩺 or learning the difference between an HSA and FSA

Insurance isn't the sexiest thing to talk about. But having the confidence and peace in knowing no matter what the future holds, you've got a plan in place is extremely sexy

How to determine your net worth:
- Add up all your assets (savings, retirement, home value, other investments)
- Subtract any liabilities (car loans, credit card debt, student loans, mortgage, any other debts)

Often people feel their self-worth is directly tied to their net worth. But here's the good news; it's not.
It doesn't matter if you have $10 in the bank or $1,000,000
It doesn't matter if you own a big, beautiful home or you're living in your mama's basement
It doesn't matter if your car is new with all the luxuries or your jalopy is being held together with duct tape and prayers

Everyone is worthy of love and respect no matter their financial standings. And you are loved, even if you don't have your p**p in a group yet. 1 John 4:9 "This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him".

This is my current Financial Peace University's debt (not including mortgages) and savings amounts going into week 2.
That's $50,329 average debt/household and $727.27 average savings/household.
Each week we update the numbers and track how much progress we're making as a group. Then on our last night, we celebrate how much debt the group has paid off and how much savings they've added.
My last class paid of $93,756 of debt in just 9 weeks!! I can't wait to see how this class does

I always encourage my clients, no matter where they are in their financial journey to find some way to be generous.
It doesn't have to be outrageous. Just something, even if its $10, even when it's hard.
I have found in my personal life, that every time I give, it always finds a way back to me.
Give to your church or look for charities that support a cause that you're passionate about.
If you feel like you'd love to be more generous but just don't have the space in your income to do it; let's set up a session to create a budget that can reflect your heart's desires.
And if you're a charity that would gladly welcome financial support, no matter the size, please tag your organization below
