Norwood Tax Services was established in 1970 in Tulsa, OK by Nyle Norwood. In 2013, Nyle passed away and left the business to Calvin Mitchell, who has been determined to offer the same level of service that made Nyle successful for so many years. While we specialize in individual and small business tax preparation, other services we offer include assistance with IRS audit, bookkeeping, payroll, notary services and more! FYI…….Most refunds for the earned income tax credit (EIC) and the additional child tax credit (ACTC) are expected to be available in bank accounts or on debit cards around March 2, 2026, for taxpayers who chose direct deposit and have no other issues with their returns. Some taxpayers may receive their refund earlier, depending on their financial institution……Stay Tune!

Starting Aug. 29, the state of Oklahoma 4.5% sales tax on groceries will be eliminated, following the signing of the bill by Gov. Kevin Stitt back in February.

Oklahoma Exempts Food From Sales Tax

H.B. 1955, signed into law on Feb. 27, brings a significant change: food and food items, including candy, bottled water, and soft drinks, will soon be exempt from the state's 4.5% sales tax. This means potential savings for consumers on everyday purchases.

It's important to note that while food and food items become tax-free, items like alcoholic beverages, to***co products, marijuana-containing products and dietary supplements will remain subject to the sales tax.
