đś One of the most talked-about financial planning topics this summer has officially taken another step forward. đ°
Last week, the new Invest America / Trump Accounts website and mobile app launched, giving families their first real look at how these accounts will work. Account activations are beginning now, with contributions scheduled to start in July.
While there has been plenty of discussion around the topic, the financial planning side is what interests us most.
Research has shown that children who grow up with savings or investment accounts in their name are more likely to develop positive financial habits and pursue higher educationâeven when the balances themselves are relatively modest.
A few questions families may want to consider:
â
How do these accounts compare to a 529 plan?
â
Should grandparents contribute?
â
How might these fit alongside other savings strategies?
â
What role could they play in helping the next generation build wealth?
Regardless of where you stand, one thing is encouraging:
More parents, grandparents, and young families are talking about long-term investing and financial education.
And that's a conversation worth having.

đ Graduation season is exciting⌠but for many new grads, itâs also the beginning of a whole new set of financial decisions.
First paycheck.
Employee benefits.
Student loans.
401(k)s.
Health insurance.
Taxes.
It can feel like a LOT all at once.
One of the biggest takeaways from our recent blog post:
đ You do not have to have everything figured out immediately.
Building strong financial habits early often matters more than making âperfectâ financial decisions.
A few simple starting points for new grads entering the workforce:
⢠Learn your employer benefits
⢠Build a basic emergency fund
⢠Avoid lifestyle creep early on
⢠Contribute enough to get the 401(k) match if available
⢠Start paying attention to where your money is actually going
Small habits now can create a lot of flexibility later đ
If you have a recent graduate in your family, this is a great season to start those conversations.

Recently, Aaron, Brad, and Jay had the opportunity to attend Cambridge rewards conferences in Puerto Rico and Bonita Springs, FL đ´âď¸
Congrats guys! đŞ
These trips are a reflection of hard work, dedication to clients, and the relationships theyâve built along the wayâand weâre proud to see them recognized.
Even better, they were able to enjoy the experience alongside their spouses and spend time connecting with members of the Cambridge team and other advisors from around the country.
Weâre grateful for a team that works hard, serves well, and still finds time to celebrate the journey together đ

đ One of the more interesting retirement articles we came across this week wasnât really about investments at allâŚ
It was about PURPOSE.
A lot of people spend decades planning financially for retirement⌠but not nearly as much time thinking about what retirement will actually look like day-to-day.
After the schedules slow down and the career ends:
âĄď¸ What keeps you active?
âĄď¸ What gives you structure?
âĄď¸ What gives you purpose?
Retirement isnât just about leaving work.
For many people, itâs about transitioning INTO something new.
Travel âď¸
Family đ¨âđŠâđ§âđŚ
Volunteering đ¤
Hobbies âł
Faith đ
Community â¤ď¸
The financial side matters, of courseâbut the lifestyle side matters too.
A good reminder that retirement planning isnât only about preparing your finances⌠itâs also about preparing your life đ
Is Your Retirement Plan 'Veg Out on the Sofa?' Here's the Problem With That
"Doing nothing" in retirement can be a relief at first. But to thrive, your brain and body need you to replace the challenges and purpose work provided.

đĄ Retirement Planning Isnât Just About âThe Numberâ
One of the most common questions we hear:
đ âHow much do I need to retire?â
Itâs a great questionâbut itâs only part of the conversation.
Because retirement isnât staticâŚ
Markets change đđ
Expenses shift đ¸
And retirement can last decades
Thatâs why flexibility matters.
One way we help visualize this is through a âbucketâ approach đŞŁ
⢠Short-term bucket â designed for stability and near-term income
⢠Mid-term bucket â built to provide income as needed
⢠Long-term bucket â focused on growth for the future
This structure can help create flexibilityâso youâre not forced to make tough decisions during market swings.
A few simple ideas we often talk through:
⢠Not every year will look the sameâand your plan shouldnât either
⢠Spending can adjust depending on conditions
⢠Separating âneedsâ vs. âwantsâ creates clarity
⢠Small adjustments over time can make a big difference
At the end of the day, itâs less about hitting a perfect numberâŚ
and more about having a plan that can adapt as life happens đ

đ Proud to Support Tulsa Fire Departmentâs MIH Program đ
This week we had the opportunity to support another incredible community initiativeâthis one nominated by our team member Stevie.
The Tulsa Fire Department's Mobile Integrated Health (MIH) program is doing meaningful work right here in our communityâconnecting people with the resources they need and meeting them where they are.
Itâs all about getting the right help to the right person at the right time, and making a real impact on quality of life across Tulsa.
Weâre grateful to learn more about the program and play a small part in supporting the work theyâre doing.
And a big thank you to Stevie for helping us stay connected to causes that matter in our community đ
This morning, members of the Tulsa Fire Department had the opportunity to visit Utica Capital to accept a generous donation that will directly support our Mobile Integrated Health program.
Our MIH team is doing incredible work every day, finding nontraditional ways to meet people where they are and connect them with the resources they need. Itâs all about getting the right help to the right person at the right time, ultimately improving quality of life for those facing difficult circumstances.
Utica Capital Management has a strong track record of investing in our community, and after learning more about this program, they wanted to be part of it. Chief Michael Baker and our EMS Chief Lemery spent time with their team this morning sharing how these efforts are already making a difference and how their contribution will help us continue building on that momentum.
Weâre grateful for partners like Utica Capital Management who believe in this mission and are helping us create meaningful, lasting impact across Tulsa.

𧞠Tax Week Reminder âł
As many are wrapping up filing this week⌠itâs easy to hit âsubmitâ and move on.
But your tax return can actually be a really helpful planning tool for the year ahead đ
đ° Big refund?
Might be worth reviewing your W-4 withholding with your employer
â Or shifting some savings toward Roth accounts (taxed now, tax-free later)
đ¸ Owed more than expected?
Could be a sign to increase:
⢠401(k) or IRA contributions
⢠HSA contributions
⢠Other pre-tax strategies
The goal isnât to be perfectâ A few small tweaks (especially towards retirement savings đ) can make big ripples in your outlook. đŞ

đ Proud to Support Legacy Family Network đ
Recently, we had the opportunity to support a local organization recommended by our teammate Coleâ Legacy Family Networkâand weâre grateful to be a small part of the work theyâre doing.
Their mission is simple but powerful: supporting children in foster and adoptive homes by walking alongside the families who care for them.
Through resources, education, and a strong community, theyâre making a real difference right here in Oklahoma.
A few reminders of the need:
⢠5,984 children currently in Oklahoma foster care
⢠374 children waiting for a forever family
⢠550 families served by Legacy in 2025
Weâre thankful for organizations like thisâand for team members like Cole who help us stay connected to meaningful causes in our community.

đ Happy (belated) Birthday, Stevie! đ
We couldnât let March wrap up without giving a shoutout to Stevie!
Thereâs not much that gets done around here that doesnât pass through her email or land on her desk first⌠and somehow she keeps it all moving seamlessly đ
Weâre grateful for everything she does behind the scenes to keep our office running strong.
Hope you had a great birthday, Stevieâwe appreciate you! đâ¨
