Dear Liz: My mail with a check to the IRS was stolen from inside the post office (I dropped it into the internal wall slot).

An automatic extension to file 2024 income tax returns was granted by the IRS and California Franchise Tax Board as a result of the January fires.

FYI to all LA County residents - due to the wild fires, for the 2024 tax year, the the IRS and CA have issued an automatic extension for filing and paying taxes to October 15th.
