And guess what? Depending on your situation, you may even be entitled to a REFUND! 💵

Here’s something many taxpayers don’t realize:

✅ You can still file returns from previous years.

✅ The IRS generally gives you 3 years from the original filing deadline to claim a refund.

✅ Even if you don’t owe taxes, filing could mean recovering money that belongs to you.

⚠️ Important: The deadline to claim a federal refund for tax year 2022 has generally passed, but 2023 refunds may still be claimed until April 15, 2027, in most cases.

Financial freedom isn’t just about making more money. It’s also about making sure you’re not leaving money behind! 💕

🚨 TAX DEADLINE REMINDER! 🚨

Tomorrow, October 15, 2026, is the deadline to file your 2025 federal income tax return if you requested an extension!

⏰ The clock is ticking!

If you filed an extension back in April, this is your reminder to get that return completed and submitted!

📌 A few things to remember:

* An extension gave you more time to FILE, not more time to pay.
* Any unpaid taxes may already be accumulating interest and penalties.
* Even if you cannot afford to pay your balance in full, you should still file your return on time.
* Don’t wait until the last minute to gather your documents!

MARRIED BUT SEPARATED? READ THIS BEFORE YOU FILE! 👀

Just because you and your spouse no longer live together doesn’t automatically mean you can file as SINGLE!

💡 Here’s what you need to know:

If you’re legally married on December 31st, the IRS generally considers you married for that tax year, even if you’ve been living separately.

Depending on your circumstances, you may qualify for:

✅ Married Filing Jointly

✅ Married Filing Separately

✅ Head of Household, if you meet specific IRS requirements.

And yes, certain married taxpayers who live apart may qualify for Head of Household!

Your filing status affects your tax calculations, deductions, and eligibility for certain credits.

Don’t assume. Get informed BEFORE you file!

If you’re new here, welcome!! And if you’ve been here for a while, thank you for all your support and staying along for the ride!! 🙏🏽

I’m Shaketta aka KeKe, the face, heart, and hands behind Kingdom Savour Finances. I’m a tax professional, financial educator, entrepreneur, mother, daughter of God and a woman who is still becoming.

And let me be REAL with you…

I am far from perfect.

I’m on a healing journey. I’m rebuilding. I’m learning. I’m growing. There are days when I have to encourage myself while I’m encouraging somebody else.

But one thing I refuse to do is give up.

Not on myself.

Because my WHY is bigger than me.

My children are a huge part of why I keep going. I want to create financial freedom for my family, but I also want to help other families experience something different.

👀 W-2 WORKERS, THIS ONE IS FOR YOU!💗

Before the year ends, take a look at your most recent paycheck and check your federal tax withholding.

Life changes can change your tax situation too.

Did you:
🏠 Buy or sell a home?
💍 Get married or divorced?
👶 Have a baby or gain a dependent?
💼 Start a second job?
📈 Get a significant raise?
⏰ Pick up overtime or additional income?

If something changed, don’t assume your current withholding is still where it needs to be.

A bigger refund isn’t always better, and owing a large tax bill isn’t the goal either.

The goal is to have your withholding work with your overall tax situation.

📌 Tax Tip: October is a great time to review your withholding because there’s still time to make adjustments before the end of the year.

Don’t wait until January to find out what happened with your taxes.

Your tax return doesn’t start in January. It starts with what you do NOW.

If you’re self-employed, a business owner, or earning 1099 income, October is a good time to take a look at your financial records before the year gets away from you.

Ask yourself:

📌 Have I tracked ALL of my business income?

📌 Are my business expenses properly documented?

📌 Am I keeping my business and personal spending separate?

📌 Have I kept receipts and records for expenses I may need to substantiate?

📌 Do I know where my business stands financially before the year ends?

Don’t wait until tax season to discover that your records are missing, your numbers don’t match, or you can’t remember what that $437 charge was for. 😩

Tax preparation is easier when tax planning starts BEFORE tax season.

Get organized. Stay informed. Keep your records. Because being audit-ready isn’t something you should think about after you file.
