For over 20 years, I chased the next level. And I was really good at it β right up until it started costing me the parts of my life I actually loved.
October 10 is World Mental Health Day, so I'll be honest with you.
Somewhere in those corporate years, the climb stopped feeling like ambition and started feeling like dread. More hours. More pressure. Less of me at the dinner table. I was giving my best energy to a path I wasn't sure I wanted β and the quiet part is that I could feel something in me going silent.
Starting Magnolia didn't fix everything overnight. But it woke that part back up.
I found the work I'm actually passionate about.
I found room to grow β personally and professionally β at a pace that makes sense for me and my family.
And I found out that "sustainable" isn't the same thing as "small."
Here's what I want you to hear, whether you're building a business or just tired of the path you're on:
You're allowed to pivot. Not because you failed β because you learned something about what fits you now. Give yourself the grace to change direction and choose a pace you can actually live at.
And take care of the rest of you, too. Talking to a counselor, your doctor, or someone you trust is a strong move, not a last resort. π€
If you're standing at a crossroads in your own business, I'd love to hear where you are β tell me in the comments, or send me a DM and we'll talk it through.
