Today, we pause to remember the lives lost on September 11. For many families, this day carries memories that are deeply personal. It's a reminder of how precious life is, how strong our communities can be, and how important it is to take care of one another during moments of uncertainty. Thank you to the first responders whose courage and sacrifice continue to inspire us, today and always.

Our hearts are with our friends in Indiana who have been affected by the recent historic levels of flooding. ❤️

For families and business owners already managing the emotional and practical toll of flood damage, tax planning may understandably feel secondary. But taking a few informed steps now can help ensure available options aren’t overlooked.

Indiana law provides certain property owners with an opportunity to seek reassessment, and potentially property tax relief, when property has been damaged by flooding. Depending on the circumstances and type of property, some filing deadlines fall on December 31, 2026.

A few practical steps to consider now:
• Document property damage thoroughly with photos, videos and records of repairs or insurance claims.
• Contact your county assessor to understand what reassessment options may apply.
• Review the applicable filing requirements and deadlines before year-end.
• Coordinate with your legal, tax and advisory professionals so these decisions are considered as part of the broader financial picture.

The backpacks are packed. Calendars are filling up. And routines are shifting once again.

As you settle into the fall schedule, take a look at the conversations and decisions that may need a place on the calendar before year-end.

Are there planning items you’ve been meaning to revisit? Questions that need input from your advisory team? Decisions that keep getting pushed to "later"?

Putting time aside now can help turn good intentions into thoughtful action.
