Un juez de circuito dictaminó esta semana que el condado de Benton reevaluó incorrectamente el valor de las casas propiedad de residentes mayores de 65 años o que son discapacitados, a pesar de que una enmienda constitucional de Arkansas congela los impuestos a la propiedad de esos residentes.

Según el fallo, las reevaluaciones incorrectas “afectaron aproximadamente a 6.665 parcelas en el condado de Benton, lo que resultó en el exceso de impuestos a la propiedad recaudados desde 2018 por un total de aproximadamente 7.377.010,45 dólares”.

A circuit judge ruled this week that Benton County incorrectly reassessed the value of homes owned by residents who are older than 65 or who are disabled, despite an Arkansas constitutional amendment freezing those residents' property taxes.

According to the ruling, the incorrect reassessments "affected approximately 6,665 parcels in Benton County, resulting in excess property taxes collected since 2018 totaling approximately $7,377,010.45."
