⏳ 10 DAYS UNTIL Q3 ESTIMATED TAXES ARE DUE!
If you’re self-employed or a business owner, September 15 is your reminder to get your Q3 estimated tax payment handled.
Here’s a quick safe harbor tip that could help you avoid an underpayment penalty:
👉 Pay 100% of last year’s tax liability
👉 Or 110% if your income was over $150K
👉 Divide that amount by 4 and pay it quarterly
The good news? You don’t need to guess.
Pull out last year’s tax return and start there.
⚠️ Still unsure what you should pay?

Q3 Estimated Tax: Don’t Guess—Use This Simple Method 💰
Not sure what to pay for your Q3 estimated taxes? You don’t have to overcomplicate it.
Try the Safe Harbor Method 👇
1️⃣ Find your 2025 “Total Tax” on Form 1040.
2️⃣ AGI of $150K or less? Divide that amount by 4.
3️⃣ AGI over $150K? Multiply by 110%, then divide by 4.
4️⃣ Subtract what you already paid for Q1 and Q2.
5️⃣ Pay the remaining amount by September 15.
✅ The big benefit? This method can help protect you from underpayment penalties—even if your 2026 income ends up being higher than expected.
💻 Ready to pay? Use IRS Direct Pay or EFTPS. It can take just a few minutes.
And remember: Don’t let “I’m not sure what to pay” turn into “I didn’t pay anything.” An imperfect payment is generally better than no payment at all.

September 15 is closer than you think.
If you're self-employed, a freelancer, or a small business owner, your Q3 estimated tax payment is due on September 15.
One of the biggest misconceptions I hear is:
"I'll just pay everything when I file my tax return."
Unfortunately, that's not how estimated taxes work.
The IRS expects taxes to be paid as you earn income. Even if you pay your full balance by April 15, you could still owe an underpayment penalty if you didn't make enough quarterly payments.
Now is a great time to review your income, calculate what you may owe, and avoid unnecessary penalties.
If you're unsure whether you're on track, send me a message. I help small business owners, freelancers, and real estate investors stay tax-ready all year, not just during filing season.

Not sure whether to take the standard deduction or itemize on your tax return? 🤔
After calculating your Adjusted Gross Income (AGI), one of the most important decisions you'll make is choosing the deduction that gives you the greatest tax benefit.
📌 2025 Standard Deduction Amounts
Single: $15,750
Married Filing Jointly: $31,500
Married Filing Separately: $15,750
Qualifying Surviving Spouse: $31,500
Head of Household: $26,625
You may want to itemize instead if your qualifying expenses - such as mortgage interest, charitable donations, medical expenses (subject to IRS rules), and state and local taxes -add up to more than your standard deduction.
The goal is simple: Choose the option that lowers your taxable income the most.
✔️ Keep good records.
✔️ Compare both methods.
✔️ Don't assume the standard deduction is always the best choice.
Understanding this step can make a real difference in your tax bill. If you're unsure which deduction is right for your situation, We're here to help.
