🎉 It’s Financial Planning Month! 🎉

We know, we know… you’ve probably been counting down the days. October rolls around and while everyone else is thinking about pumpkin patches, fall colors, and Halloween, you’re thinking, “Finally! Financial Planning Month!” 😂

Okay… maybe that’s just us.

The truth is, we really DO love this stuff. We love digging into the details, running the numbers, thinking ahead, asking the “what if?” questions, and making sure all the pieces of your financial life are working together.

And there’s a reason we spend so much time doing it: so you don’t have to.

You should get to spend your time doing the things YOU love with the people you love.

We’ll happily spend ours thinking about tax planning, retirement projections, investment strategies, estate planning, and all those little details that probably aren’t keeping you awake with excitement. 😉

So happy Financial Planning Month from the people who are genuinely nerdy enough to celebrate it. 🎉

We’ll happily spend our time on the planning. You go enjoy October. 🍂

☕ Happy National Coffee Day!

If you’ve spent any time in our office, you know there’s usually coffee brewing and we think some of the best conversations happen with a cup in hand.

Our office is more than the place we come to work.

It’s a place we come to connect.

We talk about life here.

Families and careers.

Big dreams and hard decisions.

Retirement plans and travel plans.

What’s changing, what matters most, and what you hope the next chapter might look like.

Because while we may spend our days talking about finances, the conversations that matter most are really about the life those finances make possible.

So today, we’re celebrating good coffee, good conversation, and the people we’re lucky enough to share both with. ☕💛

You’ve spent decades preparing financially for retirement…but have you thought about what you’re actually retiring TO? 🤔

In the third and final part of our Financial Checklist for Your 50s, we’re stepping away from some of the numbers and focusing on the bigger picture.

Because preparing for retirement isn’t just about investments and account balances. It’s also about:

✔️ Making sure your insurance and risk management still fit your life
✔️ Having important conversations with aging parents and your own family
✔️ Thinking about how you want to spend your time in retirement
✔️ Making sure you have the right financial planning relationship for the years ahead

Retirement doesn’t have to be busy to be meaningful but it should be intentional.

Money can help fund your retirement. But it won’t define it. The goal is to build a life you’re excited to wake up to.

You’ve spent decades building this life. Now it’s time to start looking forward to what comes next.

The final installment of our Financial Checklist for Your 50s series explores insurance, family conversations, finding purpose in retirement, and choosing the right financial planning relationship.

It’s officially fall! 🍂

Bring on the cooler mornings, changing leaves, football weekends, pumpkin everything, and the annual debate over whether it’s actually too early to turn on the heat. 😆

**Fun fact:** During the fall, Richelle spends approximately 50% of her time at the office and 50% watching football.*

*Statistic completely made up. Accuracy questionable. 😂🏈

What’s your favorite part of fall?

Taxes. Social Security. Estate planning. Long-term care.

Did we lose you yet? 😆

They may not be the most exciting retirement topics, but they’re important ones and your 50s can be an important time to start thinking about them.

The good news? You don’t need to become an expert in all of them. Taking time to understand your options and think ahead can make these topics feel much more manageable.

In Part Two of our Financial Checklist for Your 50s, we’re breaking down four of the “complicated” topics that are easy to put off until later:

✔️ Planning ahead for taxes in retirement
✔️ Deciding when Social Security fits into your plan
✔️ Updating (or finally creating!) your estate plan
✔️ Understanding your options for long-term care

Because good retirement planning isn’t about having everything figured out today. It’s about being intentional and thinking ahead.

Happy Grandparents Day! 💛

Today we celebrate the grandparents who make life a little sweeter - the ones who share their stories, pass along their wisdom, cheer us on, and create memories that stay with us for a lifetime.

When we think about legacy, it’s easy to think about what we leave behind. But so much of a legacy is built while we’re still here - in the traditions we create, the values we pass down, the lessons we teach, and the time we spend with the people we love.

Those are the things that can shape a family for generations.

To all the grandparents in our Impact community and beyond, we hope you know just how much your presence matters and how meaningful the legacy you’re building truly is.

Happy Grandparents Day! 💛

Twenty-five years ago today, our country changed forever.

Like so many Americans, we can still remember where we were as the events of September 11, 2001, unfolded.

Nearly 3,000 lives were lost that day, and today we remember them, their families, the first responders, and all those whose lives were forever changed.

But we also remember what happened afterward.

Remember September 12?

Strangers didn’t feel quite so much like strangers. There was a sense that we were all in this together. We checked on one another. We showed up for each other. We were reminded how much we need each other.

Maybe one of the best ways we can honor this day is to carry a little of that September 12 spirit with us.

To be a little kinder. A little more patient. A little more willing to look out for one another.

There are so many things in this world that are outside of our control.

How we show up for each other isn’t one of them.

We remember. 🇺🇸

🍁 It’s fall review season—one of our favorite times of year!

And not just because of the changing leaves. It means we get to sit down with so many of our clients, catch up on life, and make sure their financial plan is keeping pace with it.

We typically meet with our clients 1–2 times a year to talk through what’s changed, what’s coming up, and whether there are any adjustments we should make along the way.

Because a lot can happen between reviews. Retirement gets closer. Families grow. Travel plans get made. Priorities shift. Sometimes life throws something at you that wasn’t part of the plan at all.

That’s why these meetings are about so much more than investments and account balances. They’re a chance to catch up, hear what’s happening in your world, and make sure your plan continues to reflect what matters most to you.

And that’s really what financial planning is all about—building a plan for your money around the life you actually want to live. ❤️
