Tax season is coming, and we want to remind you: Your tax return needs to tell the truth.

❌ Don’t claim someone who doesn’t qualify as your dependent.
❌ Don’t make up income or expenses.
❌ Don’t claim credits you aren’t eligible for.
❌ Don’t “borrow” deductions from someone else’s situation.
❌ Don’t sign a return you know contains false information.

Even if someone tells you, “Everyone does it,” or “You’ll never get caught,” you are responsible for the information on the return you sign.

💡 Not sure if you qualify for a deduction or tax credit? ASK! There’s a big difference between making a legitimate mistake and knowingly filing false information.
