Tuesday Tip #17 🦋 ~ Plan for seasonal highs and lows.
Not every month in business looks the same.
Some months bring stronger sales, while others may be slower. Expenses can fluctuate, too, especially when businesses experience seasonal changes in demand.
Recognizing these patterns can help you prepare for what's ahead rather than simply reacting when things change.
Understanding your business's seasonal trends can help you:
✔️ Anticipate slower periods and plan for cash flow needs
✔️ Set aside funds during stronger months to help cover quieter ones
✔️ Make more informed decisions about staffing, inventory, and expenses
✔️ Establish realistic financial expectations throughout the year
Action Step: Review your revenue and expenses over the past 12 months, if available. Look for recurring patterns, particularly months when revenue increases, expenses rise, or cash flow becomes tighter.
Ask yourself: Are there predictable changes I could be planning for instead of reacting to?
A strong month doesn't necessarily mean every month will be strong. Understanding your business's financial patterns helps you prepare for the slower periods and make more confident decisions throughout the year.
