Per Executive Order NW-03 for Bexar County Section (b) part (ix), MG Tax & Business Solutions Inc. is an exempted business for the "Stay Home Work Safe Measures" order issued last night as we perform accounting services for purposes of legally mandated activities (federal/state tax and audit compliance). We will remain open as long as we are healthy and able to serve our clients effectively.

Please do your part and follow the guidelines under the order if you are not exempted. And stay safe.

We hope this note finds you and your families well in this challenging time. MG Tax is closely monitoring developments related to COVID-19, including information and guidance published by healthcare authorities around the globe, including the WHO and CDC, as well as state and local authorities.

MG Tax is open for business (M-F 9am - 5pm). Much of the work that we do for you can still be handled by our team directly here. At this time, we are not taking any in-person appointments or meetings for the next 60 days.

We are still accepting physical drop off of tax data and pickup of tax returns and documents at this time. Please follow the protocols outlined in our front lobby for drop off and pickup. If you or anyone you have been in contact with has been exposed or is symptomatic, PLEASE DO NOT COME to our offices. We will mail you any needed documentation or accept it electronically.

We highly encourage you to use our secure Google drive to upload any documents you need to share. We will provide a dedicated link at your request at no cost to you. If you do not have a scanner, our recommendation is to use the Genius Scan app (download for Iphone or Android) to take pictures of your documents which will convert them into PDFs. Then upload accordingly. Feel free to call in with any questions.

There are, however, emerging situations where maintaining a physical office is not permitted. If this occurs, we will let our clients know immediately and endeavor to deliver your much needed tax documentation as safely as possible or permitted.

The individual income tax deadline has been moved to July 15, 2020. There has been no guidance to date on corporate, partnership, or franchise tax due dates. So we are proceeding with a September 15, 2020 deadline for those on extension.
Note that all of our existing and newly signed clients will be placed on extension to the latest date possible if we haven't received your information and completed your return. There is no penalty to do so nor does it increase your audit risk..

Thank you for your understanding and patience as we work to complete your filings. Given we perform an important function for the federal and many state governments, it is anticipated we will be an essential business allowed to continue to file returns during this crisis. However, we will always err on the side of caution to ensure the safety of our team, families, and clients as directed by the CDC, federal, and state/local governments in continuing our services.
