-- scattered appointments, 1 county gig, and one doctor appointment -- and it is the end of the 3rd quarter.

and I'll be going to the car wash ... a spot of muddy overspray on the commute home to do chores :) ... sending vibes for drier warmer weather for our farm families ...

Draft copies of 2026 tax forms were released yesterday -- let's hope they are ready to roll by filing season ....

Weather dude forecasted a nice breeze day -- should dry things out a bit ... I'll be bonding with the lawn mower this evening - not sure about you all -- but I'm getting a little tired of mowing ....

client meetings are scattered thru the week and we have a large/unique/complicated Estate/Trust/individual/beneficiary returns due as well -- life is messy even in the after life ..

-- advice for the week --- have your ducks in order before you die -- this client did and even though it's been a lot of work .. it would be worse if the ducks were scattered ..

Happy Wednesday ... so the question of the day "how come you take so many continuing education classes?" .. so here's the scoop ...

to be a licensed CPA in Minnesota .... I need over a 3 year period ..
120 hours of cpe ..
20 hour minimum in any given year
8 hours of ethics
of the 120 - 72 hours from approved sponsors ... and

every three years I need to go thru the Peer Review Process -- non licensed accountants and cpa's are not able to issue attest reports or compiled financial statements in Minnesota. licensed cpa's need to go thru the peer review process to be able to issue attest reports and compiled financial statements --

my peer review cycle was for the year ended 12/31/25 and in early June finished my review -- ( with flying colors!) .. it too is a good learning experience

quality cpe is expensive -- but with the post covid electronic age -- it is readily available via the internet thru some really unique sources -- l try and tailor my cpe to match my clients -- in late August I livestreamed a farm tax gig from the University of West Virginia -- today was day one for Business Entities - (partnerships, corporations, and s-corporations) -- and another 8 hours tomorrow .. I try and get 30 hours a year - just to even it out .. and match up with our practice areas

so long story short -- the education is required - as with everything in our crazy world it all takes time ( and good internet) --

and Kate will be a horse show, I forgot to call Robyn and Jan had cataract surgery .. so, I'll be here alone .. depending upon the internet I might be here or I might stream from home .... please leave messages or email us ...
