Quick reminder for everyone as we head into tax season: please be careful with your withholding choices. Claiming exempt without proof could trigger an audit, which can put even more fed eyes on you. They also are not above garnishing wages. If your goal is simply to reduce how much you send to the IRS throughout the year, the safest move is to talk with a qualified tax advisor who can help you adjust things without having to go through the steps of proving legitimacy of exemption and raising additional flags.
