Though we strive for your return to be with speed, we still need to ensure accuracy and compliance with the IRS codes and your local State laws. Please know that each filing is with the understanding of 7-10 business days for processing. We usually do better than this. However, when you are asking us to amend your returns not originated with us, we have to recreate the return and then modify them. This does take additional time and if you have request multiple years amended, than you just added a 5-7 days per year added. The timeline is provided as a base of reference for if you have all accounting documents and totals ready that speeds up the timeline, but if we have to do additional work or request additional information that can delay the process. Please be patient with your provider and afford us some grace, we want to provide you with the best service possible at an affordable rate. Thank you for your understanding.

I see posts like this all the time and they bug the CRAP out of me...

Not because Fixed Indexed Annuities are bad. But because comparisons like this leave out A LOT.

Yes, a $600k FIA COULD produce more income than the 4% rule.

What they don't tell you:

• That "guaranteed" income often requires giving up access to your principal
• The income percentage they quote assumes you defer income for years first
• Caps on index gains mean your growth has a ceiling
• Surrender charges can lock your money up for 7 to 10 years
• The illustration looks great on paper and real life is more complicated

The 4% rule has its own flaws too. It's not perfect. But at least it keeps your money accessible and invested.

FIAs aren't a scam. For the RIGHT person in the RIGHT situation they can absolutely make sense.

But "same money, double the income, guaranteed for life" is the kind of headline that gets people to sign paperwork they don't fully understand.

As a CFP® I've seen that go badly. More than once.

Get the full picture before you make any decisions with your retirement savings.
