🚨 MISSED THE OCTOBER 15TH TAX DEADLINE? DON'T PANIC!

Life happens, and sometimes tax returns get filed late. Here's what you need to know! 👇

💰 Getting a refund? The IRS doesn't charge a late-filing penalty if you are due a refund.

📅 Arkansas taxpayers: If you have a valid extension, Arkansas gives you until November 15th to file your state return without a late-filing penalty.

✅ Can penalties be removed? Sometimes! The IRS may grant penalty relief if you qualify for first-time abatement or have a legitimate reason for filing late, known as reasonable cause. Relief isn't automatic, but it's worth exploring if you qualify.

⏳ Don't wait too long for a refund! You have only three years to claim an IRS refund. After that deadline, the IRS usually won't issue the refund, even if your return shows one!

The bottom line: Do your best to meet the deadline but if you miss it, don't ignore it. Getting your return filed as soon as possible can help prevent additional problems.
