"I turned down the raise — it would push me into a higher bracket and I'd take home less." I hear this constantly. It's mathematically impossible.
Think of tax brackets as stairs, not a cliff. Each step is taxed at its own rate — only the step you're standing on, not the stairs beneath it. Earn $100 more and land on a 24% stair? You pay 24% on that one step. About $76 still comes home. The stairs below stay exactly as they were.
There's no scenario where climbing a stair sends you back down. The system was built as a staircase, not a trapdoor.

You could be leaving a pretty big tax deduction on the table 👀
If you’re self-employed or run an LLC, S-Corp, or partnership, you may be able to deduct up to 20% of your qualified business income
And the good news? The QBI Deduction is now permanent
The catch: it’s not automatic. Your business structure, income, and how your return is filed all matter
Not sure if you’re getting the full benefit?
Send us a message or reach out — we’ll help you take a closer look at your situation

Tax documents can sound way more confusing than they need to be
A lot of people use tax return and tax transcript like they mean the same thing — but they don’t
Depending on what you need, one may be enough while the other may not be the right fit at all
If you’re applying for a loan, getting a mortgage, checking your records, or simply trying to understand which document to request, knowing the difference can save you time and unnecessary stress

Most drivers miss deductions every year — not because they're doing anything wrong, but because nobody showed them where to look.
Your phone bill, if you use it for dispatch or load boards. Truck washes, because keeping your truck ready for work counts. Subscriptions like load boards and safety apps. Even things you buy for the sleeper, since your workplace happens to have a bed in it. And yes — sometimes the cost of getting your taxes done is deductible too.
You don't need to be "creative" with your taxes. You just need to know what's already allowed.
