M&D Accounting Firm — Owner’s Reflection Post
25 years in the tax industry… and I still sit back sometimes and think, “God, look at what You’ve done.”
When I started, it was taxes.
Then I evolved.
I grew.
And M&D evolved with me.
Today, we operate as a full-service accounting firm, but what still amazes me most is how my clients have become so much more than clients.
I have literally had two-hour conversations with clients that had very little to do with accounting.
Sometimes they call because their finances are upside down.
Sometimes they call because life is upside down.
Sometimes they just need a safe place to talk.
And somehow, somewhere in the conversation, I’ll hear myself say:
“No matter what it looks like, trust God.”
What they may not realize is that sometimes I need to hear those same words too.
There have been days when I wasn’t having the best day myself. Then the phone rings:
“Ms. Nina…”
“Ms. Nina, let me tell you…”
“Ms. Nina, what do you think?”
And before I know it, I’m encouraging somebody else, speaking life into them, reminding them of who God is — and my own spirit begins to lift.
Whatever I was dealing with suddenly doesn’t feel quite as big anymore.
That’s when I’m reminded that M&D Accounting Firm is more than business for me. It is ministry.
In January 2016, I told God, “However You need to use me, I’m open.”
Now listen… there are definitely days when I look up and say,
“Come on, God… this is TOO MUCH.” 😂
And I can almost hear Him reminding me:
“You said you were available.”
My testimony is not one of perfection.
There was a time in my life when the pain became so heavy that I suffered a nervous breakdown. I turned my back on God for a season.
But He never turned His back on me.
He healed me.
He restored me.
And because I know what it feels like to be broken, overwhelmed, discouraged, and still be loved by God through it all, I can freely share my testimony without worrying about what people may think.
Because if God could bring me through, I know He can do it for somebody else too.
That is why when you become a client of M&D, you may walk through the door looking for accounting, tax preparation, bookkeeping, payroll, or financial guidance…
…but somewhere along the way, you may gain a prayer partner, an encourager, a listening ear, and someone who genuinely wants to see you win.
My clients are not just clients. They become family.
And after 25 years, that may be one of the greatest honors of this journey.
