Over the past twelve weeks, we have been blessed with the opportunity to share business and tax advice with these two girls. 🤍

When Debbie and Hector approached us and asked if we would be interested in volunteering with the JCAP program in Fulton County, we knew there was no way we could turn it down. What we thought would be just carefully planned out classes quickly turned into deep connections, heartfelt conversations and by the end of the 12 weeks I can honestly say that we may have learned more from them than they did us. We were able to watch their personalities show and grow with each week that passed. They never failed to show us anything but respect, gratitude and had us laughing every single week.

Watching you graduate today was bitter sweet, we are so proud of you. Girls, you got this! We have been believing in you since day one. And remember, stop by and see us anytime. 🤍

We also want to shout out Hector and Debbie, you do a fantastic job managing the JCAP program. Thank you for including us!

Also, every employee at Fulton County Jail, thank you for welcoming us in to your facility and for all the support you gave to us.

Tidewater Executive Tax Service is transitioning to a new and improved secure client portal! 🎉

We have sent an email with additional information to clients who logged into and used our Client Xchange portal during the 2026 tax season.

⚠️ IMPORTANT DEADLINE — OCTOBER 31, 2026

TaxAct is retiring the current Client Xchange portal. If you have documents stored in the existing portal that you would like to keep, please log in and download them to your personal computer or device no later than October 31, 2026.

Documents currently stored in Client Xchange will NOT automatically transfer to the new portal, and our office will not be re-uploading prior documents. Moving forward, we will upload documents to the new portal as they are requested or needed.

2026 Tax Change: Your Donations you make to a Qualified Charity Count Even If You Don’t Itemize

“I donate every year, so why isn’t it a write-off on my taxes?” We hear this question often! Here’s the simple explanation:

When you file a federal tax return, you generally choose between two ways to reduce the income you’re taxed on:

🔹 Standard deduction: A set amount you can claim without listing individual expenses.

🔹 Itemized deductions: You add up eligible expenses, such as certain taxes, mortgage interest, and charitable donations. You generally use this option if the total helps you more than the standard deduction.

What changed for 2026? If you take the standard deduction, you may also deduct qualifying cash donations to charity: up to $1,000, or $2,000 if married filing jointly.

For example, if you take the standard deduction and donate $500 to a qualifying charity in 2026, you may be able to deduct that $500 too. That does not mean a $500 refund, it means $500 less income may be subject to federal income tax.

This new deduction is for money donated, such as donations made by cash, check, or card. Clothing and household goods do not qualify for this particular deduction. Save your donation records, and bring them to us when we prepare your 2026 return in 2027!
