🚨 BUSINESS OWNERS: THE LAST QUARTER IS HERE!

Don’t wait until tax season to discover your books are incomplete or inaccurate. Now is the time to make sure your business records are in order before December 31st.

📚 WHY PROPER BOOKS MATTER

As your tax professional, we are not here to audit your business. However, when something doesn’t look right, tax preparers have a responsibility to make reasonable inquiries.

Poor or incomplete records can lead to:
❌ Missed deductions
❌ Incorrect income reporting
❌ Tax filing delays
❌ Costly mistakes
❌ Increased risk of penalties and compliance issues

Your business should have accurate, complete, and organized books and records throughout the year—not just when it’s time to file your tax return.

💼 LET MRTA FINANCIAL HELP YOU GET READY FOR YEAR-END

📊 Bookkeeping services starting at ONLY $195/month
We help keep your books organized and ready for tax preparation.

⏰ DON’T WAIT UNTIL JANUARY!

💰 NO TAX ON TIPS? NOT EXACTLY!

There’s a lot of confusion about the new “No Tax on Tips” provision, so let’s clear it up! 👇

Tips are NOT completely tax-free.

The new federal provision allows eligible employees to claim a deduction for qualified tips — up to $25,000 on their federal income tax return, subject to eligibility requirements.

But that does NOT mean employees should stop reporting tips or that employers should stop including tips in payroll.

⚠️ Tips are still subject to:

✅ Social Security taxes
✅ Medicare taxes
✅ Federal unemployment tax (FUTA) — generally
✅ State unemployment taxes (SUTA) — subject to state rules

Employees: You still need to report your tips to your employer.

Employers: You still have payroll tax and reporting responsibilities for tipped employees.

👉 The important distinction is that “No Tax on Tips” is an income-tax deduction — it is NOT an exemption from payroll taxes.

Don’t let the name of the law cause confusion and potentially create payroll problems.

📞 Have questions about how this affects your payroll or your personal taxes?
Contact MRTA Financial Group, Inc. We can help you understand the rules and keep your business compliant.
