Nohr Accounting Services, LLC

We have some BIG news at Nohr Accounting Services, LLC-- we recently MOVED! We are no longer in our former home on Slager Road in Reedsville and we are working on updating all address information accordingly.

Depending on the timing of the completion of our new build, we will either have a leased location or will be welcoming clients in our new place for 2027. Once we know more about timing, we will share an address for future appointments!

In the meantime, Kevin Nohr is offering virtual meetings, phone calls, or in-person appointments at your preferred location (he will travel to you!).

We appreciate your flexibility and support during this time of transition for our business and family, and we look forward to continuing to connect with you!

For any clients that welcomed children in 2025, I wanted to share information on a new program called Trump Accounts that offers families $1,000 per child. The $1,000 per child isn't a typical tax credit, but instead acts as an investment account (to which parents can continue to contribute if they wish) and that the child will ultimately receive when they turn 18.

Though the Trump Accounts website won't be accepting submissions to the program until the summer of 2026, a Form 4547 can be processed with 2025 tax filings in order to enroll qualifying children into the program. The Trump Accounts program will be effective for children born through December 31, 2028.

Please reach out with any questions on this program or to have qualifying children enrolled as part of your 2025 tax filing!

IR-2025-117, Dec. 2, 2025 — The Department of the Treasury and the Internal Revenue Service today issued a notice announcing upcoming regulations and providing guidance regarding Trump Accounts, which are a new type of individual retirement account for eligible children.

With tax season officially starting on January 26th, I wanted to start sharing potential changes that clients may experience on 2025 tax filings.

Some of the larger changes for the 2025 tax year were introduced with the One, Big, Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA) which was signed into effect last July. This bill allows for additional tax deductions that ultimately reduce taxable income for:

- Seniors (above the age of 65 with a qualifying income)
- Workers that rely on gratuities/tips as part of their compensation
- Workers that receive overtime as part of their compensation
- No taxes on car loan interest (for qualifying vehicles)

Please reach out to schedule an appointment if you'd like to discuss how the OBBBA tax policy changes may impact your tax return for 2025 filings!

Sharing for awareness! For anyone who's been watching or reading the news, you've probably heard mention of IRS layoffs due to DOGE initiatives within the government.

Below is an article summarizing the IRS layoffs so far, as well as potential impacts.

While I haven't seen any direct impacts of this with my clients yet, some of the areas mentioned that could be impacted are extended time for tax refund processing and reduced opportunity for appeals without litigation.

I will continue to share information if I start to notice changes for clients regarding IRS processes so that I can continue to keep everyone informed!

The IRS has begun laying off more than 6,000 new and newly promoted employees across the country as part of the push to slash the federal government, sources say.

Sharing as a watchout -- please be aware that IRS tax scams are in full swing during tax season!

An example of a tax scam is shown in the photo -- my wife and I both got this sent to our respective phones. Messages like this claiming to be the IRS are NOT valid.

The below video explains how valid communication is sent from the IRS, vs the scams that may come through this time of year:

Per the IRS "Taxpayers need to remember that the IRS will not contact them by text message or social media and ask for personal or financial information. The IRS will also not initiate contact by phone or email. If the IRS needs to contact you, it'll usually first send a letter in the mail through the U.S. Postal Service."

If you have any questions on communication regarding IRS programs you may have received, please don't hesitate to contact Nohr Accounting Services, LLC for a review!
