October 15 is coming up, and there’s an important distinction to understand.

If you filed an extension, it gave you more time to file your tax return. It did not give you more time to pay taxes you owed.

If you owed taxes when you filed your extension, that payment was still due by the original tax deadline. If you didn’t pay enough, interest and penalties may already be accruing.

Now, October 15 is the deadline to get that extended return filed.

If your return is still being prepared, make sure your tax preparer has all of the documents and information they need to finish it. And if you aren’t sure what’s still needed, now is the time to ask.

You may not know that Perfectly Balanced’s own Jessica Johnson serves on the Discover Downtown Redwood Falls board, and if you know Jess, you know how much she cares about her hometown and the community around it.

That’s why Perfectly Balanced is especially excited to see the Pocket Park project officially underway!

There’s still plenty to come, including Paint the Park during Fall Festival on September 26. Grab a friend, pick up a paintbrush, and help bring this new downtown space to life.

There’s something pretty special about seeing a community come together to make something like this happen. Perfectly Balanced can’t wait to see the finished park!

It’s official — work on the Pocket Park has begun! 🎉

After months of planning, fundraising, designing, and dreaming, concrete work is underway and we are SO excited to watch this empty lot begin its transformation into a beautiful, welcoming space for our community.

We couldn’t have reached this point without the incredible support behind this project. THANK YOU to every business, organization, individual, contractor, and community member who has sponsored, donated, gifted materials or services, shared our posts, or helped move this project forward. 💛

And we’re not done yet! We are still actively fundraising for the next phases of the Pocket Park, including the rental kiosks that will create opportunities for small businesses, makers, and entrepreneurs to have a presence downtown.
