Last week, Senator Roy Blunt and I sent a letter to the IRS demanding that they immediately stop using facial recognition technology on folks accessing their tax information online. Increased use of facial recognition technology is a slippery slope to a surveillance state, and has already resulted in reports of discriminatory outcomes, and increased use of this technology by the government is very disturbing.

February 6th, the IRS announced that they would transition away from using this technology.
